One thing that can get your directX installation back to working is perhaps setting the date on your system back to a time before the beta version was set to expire. Beta versions of directX do indeed have an expiration date and cease to function after that date giving you this error message instead. ![]() Don't install beta versions of directx on your system unless your a beta tester, developer, or just love having to reinstall windows every so often. I believe his suggestion of reinstalling win2k is the only practical and safe way to do it.Īlso, let this be a lesson learned. I think BFG10K is right it's not as easy or safe to remove directx from a win2k installation. I've heard of people using these kind of programs to remove directx on win9x, but I don't think most of these programs work for removing directx from win2k. Click on the link for that program to remove directx and you'll see that under operating system it says win9x. ![]()
